Work on the 1/72 Hasegawa P-2H Neptune (P2V-7) this week has been very tedious.

It has been a challenging week. Base coats completed, landing gear installed, and many hours of decals. The kit decals being nearly 40 years old did not age well. I was able to use only two of the kit decals after some extremely careful work. The rest of the decals were taken from my spare decal binder and a few of them I had to make for the specific squadron. I am now starting on the weathering of the aircraft. Still have a few scratch building details to do as well as other finishing touches once the weathering is completed.

Check out all the photos and details from the start in the build log 1/72 P-2H Neptune P2V-7

  1. Old decals are a problem. I should know with model kits bought in the early 1980s.
