Weekly Update – The Devastator TBD’s are finished and some sad news.

The Devastator TBD’s of Torpedo 8 for the 1/350 USS Hornet are completed and currently parked on the hangar deck.

I then started on the Dauntless Dive Bombers of Bombing 8. These require some trimming in order to fit the cockpit into the fuselage. I also have photo etch dive brakes so I will be able to display a few of them with the dive brakes open. There are many photos that show some parked with the dive brakes open and some closed. I will also have some canopies open and some closed like I did on the TBD’s.

As for the sad news – For those who do not know, I am a member of the International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS) and am an active member of the McKinstry Chapter. This week I received some sad news that we lost one of our long time members to a freak accident, Dan Paulien

Dan was an avid model builder his modeling interests ranged from cars, armor and aircraft models in various scales.

Dan was 51 years old, a single parent and left behind one college and one high school age children.

His son has set up a Go Fund Me page to help cover Dan’s the funeral costs.

I am asking anyone interested in helping Dan’s kids click on the link below:

Thank you for your attention and give Dan a kind thought.
