After four weeks the A-10A of the 75th Fighter Squadron is finished. I added the final pieces and did all the minor touch-ups completing the aircraft. The display base was then painted and detailed to represent the tarmac of a middle-east airbase. The aircraft was mounted to the base and this finished the 2nd commission build. It is scheduled to be delivered to the client next week.
You can see all the photos and details from the start in the build log at: 1/72 A-10A from Operation Iraqi Freedom
NEXT UP
This next build is the third commission build I have scheduled. This build will also be an Academy A-10 but this will be their 1/48 A-10C of the 75th Fighter Squadron as they flew in 2014. Aside from the larger scale this build will use the Master Model brass gun, a resin ejection seat, photo etch detailing and LIGHTS! I will be adding all the external lighting of the navigation, landing, and wing tip lighting. I will be using LED’s as well as fiber optics. So if you were ever interested in lighting an aircraft model you can follow along with this exciting build.
