The third week of the U-2/P0-2 I completed the painting, decals, and started on the rigging. The rigging for all the control surfaces and landing gear has been completed. I am now working on installing the main upper wing and then on to the final rigging. Once the rigging is completed I just need to add the windscreens and mount the engine. This will complete this build.
You can see all the photos and details from the start in the build log at: 1/48 Russian U-2/Po-2
COMING SOON!
After numerous requests I have spent the last few weeks converting all the 1/350 Air Wing Decal sets down to 1/700 scale! I still have a few more to go and then these will all be released. I have verified that these all fit the Trumpeter 1/700 scale aircraft. Some quick notes about these new sets – I scaled down the 1/350 decal sets so many of these have some really small decals like the numbers that go on the topside of the flaps and the ship names that go on the leading edge of the F-14 wings. I am leaving these decals on the sheet so that those who want to attempt them have them. For the most part the tails, MODEX numbers, and “NAVY” decals work fine. Remember these are on a single layer film decal paper so each decal needs to be trimmed prior to soaking in water.
I also am working on a small tutorial tip on how to trim and apply these very small decals. This tutorial will also work with applying the 1/350 Air Wing decals as well.
