WEEK TWO – Academy’s 1/48 TOW Defender 500D Helicopter – Interior Finished Working on Fuselage – NEW Hangar Bay Decal Set Released!

For the second week I completed the interior assembly, detailed the inside of the fuselages, and assembled the fuselage halves. This is where the kit has a lot of fit issues. I used a lot of putty to fill in the huge gaps and was able to get the helicopter it base coat of paint. I am working on the main and tail rotors now. All that is left are the decals, some more details on the fuselage, and the final top coat on the helicopter. I should have this finished by the end of the coming week.

NEW HANGAR BAY DECAL SET RELEASED!

I have completed and released the hangar bay decal set for the USS Gerald R. Ford CVN-78 aircraft carrier. This decal set covers all the regular signs, placards, and stripes used in the hangar bay. I was also able to locate the four murals that are painted on the hangar deck as well. These are in both 1/350 and 1/700 scales.

This set is now available in the store for purchase.

For 1/350 : 1/350 Hangar Bay Decal Sets

For 1/700: 1/700 Hangar Bay Decal Sets

I am now working on the Air Wing set for CVW-8 aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford for its 2022 trans-Atlantic maiden cruise. Here is a list of the squadrons that were aboard during this cruise. (Listing from GONAVY Website )
